NBPTS Initial Information for Candidates
Do I have to work within the 12 week time frame Tracey suggests?
Absolutely not! Rest assured that you can work at the pace that is right for you.
Some candidates love the process so much they work through it for the entire calendar year.
Other candidates find life (and the demands of being a teacher) gets in the way of putting NBPTS first.
Have it your way - you will grow big either way!
Does your program offer templates for me to use?
Yes. Each course includes templates, charts, planning tools, and writing supports to help you organize your work and stay aligned to the rubric.
Tracey’s courses are designed to coach candidates across all certificate areas. For Components 3 and 4, the process is very similar across certificate areas, even though rubrics and certificate-specific language may vary.
For Components 1 and 2, the work is more certificate-area specific, so those workshops are organized with your certificate area, prompts, forms, and evidence requirements in mind.
The goal is to give you tools that help you know what to collect, how to plan, how to organize your evidence, and how to write clearly for your specific component.
Does your program provide examples of completed work?
Yes, examples are included to help you understand what your work should look like.
Does your program include a guide to help me complete the tasks?
Yes. Each component course/workshop is designed to walk you through the process step by step so you are not guessing what to do next.
Tracey has carefully reverse-engineered each component and organized the course around the actual work candidates need to complete. As you move through the lessons, you will complete tasks in a logical order that helps you build your portfolio with the NBPTS rubric in mind.
You will also receive an Accountability Checklist/Tracker in C2, C3, C4 to help you stay on pace. This tracker breaks the component into weekly focus areas, assignments, and completion steps so you can see exactly what needs to be done and mark your progress as you go.
The tracker is meant to keep you organized and focused, but it can also be adjusted to fit your timeline. Some candidates may follow the full recommended schedule, while others may need to move faster or slower depending on their school year, filming schedule, writing time, and submission deadline.
The goal is simple: you should always know where you are, what you have completed, and what needs to happen next.
Does your program review the work I create prior to submission?
Yes, but the type of review depends on the level of support you purchase.
Our workshops and courses provide instruction, templates, examples, planning guidance, and resources to help you build your component. These products do not include individualized review of your written work.
If you want Tracey to review your work and provide feedback as you build your portfolio, you need to add the All-Access Pass for that component.
The All-Access Pass includes rubric-aligned guidance and feedback while you are actively working on your component. This may include feedback on evidence choices, planning decisions, written commentary, organization, clarity, and alignment to the 4.0 rubric.
Work review is provided through the support process inside the All-Access Pass. Candidates submit work according to the directions provided in the program, and Tracey gives feedback designed to help you strengthen your evidence, analysis, and writing before final submission.
The All-Access Pass does not include rewriting your portfolio, editing every sentence, guaranteeing certification, or reviewing unlimited last-minute drafts. Feedback is most helpful when you participate consistently and submit work throughout the process instead of waiting until the final deadline.
To receive final feedback before submission, your All-Access Pass must be active at the time you submit your work for review.
All Access Pass FAQ
Can I join more than one Component All Access Pass at the same time?
No. Candidates may only be enrolled in one active Component All Access Pass at a time.
Why is All Access limited to one component at a time?
All Access includes high-touch support, guidance, feedback, check-ins, and help staying on track. Because this support requires Tracey’s time and team support, seats are limited.
Can I still purchase more than one component course or workshop?
Yes. You may purchase the courses or workshops for the components you plan to complete. The course gives you instruction, templates, resources, and step-by-step guidance.
How is the All Access Pass different from the course or workshop?
The course or workshop teaches the component. The All Access Pass adds more individualized support while you work through that specific component course.
What if I want to complete all four components in one year?
We recommend choosing one component for All Access support first, completing or closing out that support, and then moving into the next available All Access seat if needed.
Which component should I start with?
Tracey typically recommends starting with Component 4 because it helps candidates build the foundation for planning, evidence collection, and explaining instructional decisions.
Do I need to pay for four All Access Passes at once?
No. We do not recommend paying for four All Access Passes at the same time. Start with one focused support path first.
What happens when I finish one All Access component?
Once you complete or close out support for one component, you may move into the next available All Access seat for another component.
Do you offer any coupons or discounts?
Yes! Enter the coupon code FRIEND at checkout and receive 10% off of your purchase.
Coming back after a previous attempt?
A retake is not the same as your first attempt — and it should not be approached the same way.
The good news is that you are not starting from zero. You already have valuable information: your score report, your previous submission experience, your evidence, and a clearer understanding of what the National Board process requires.
Retake candidates usually need targeted support, not a full restart. The most helpful next step is to review where your previous attempt may not have fully shown the evidence assessors were looking for, then use that insight to strengthen your planning, writing, analysis, and final submission.
Because every retake situation is different, we recommend choosing the support option that best matches the level of help you need:
- If you need structured teaching and resources, choose the course or workshop for that component.
- If you need coaching, feedback, and guided support while you revise, add the All-Access Pass for that component.
Please review each product description carefully before purchasing so you select the best fit for your needs. Email support is available for general questions about products, but we are not able to review score reports, analyze previous submissions, or recommend a personalized retake plan by email.
For retake candidates who want individualized guidance, the All-Access Pass is usually the best fit because it provides the deeper support needed to make strategic decisions about your next submission.
What if I am completing more than one component this year?
Candidates may work on more than one component in the same year, but multiple components require careful planning. Each component has its own timeline, evidence requirements, writing expectations, and submission decisions.
For that reason, we recommend purchasing support only for the components you are actively working on right now.
If you need instructional resources, purchase the course or workshop for each component you plan to complete. If you need coaching, feedback, and guided support, add the All-Access Pass for one component at a time.
This allows you to focus your coaching support where it will have the greatest impact instead of spreading your attention across too many components at once.
Please read each product description carefully before purchasing. We are happy to answer general product questions, but we cannot create individualized multi-component plans, compare every possible purchase combination, or make component-by-component decisions through email.
What is the All-Access Pass and how does it work?
The All-Access Pass is $99/month per component and replaces the group Think Tank sessions that were offered in prior years. All coaching through the All-Access Pass is now 100% individualized — every Live Zoom meeting and every feedback touchpoint is 1:1, just you and Tracey.
Here is how to get started:
Because seats are limited and this is high-touch support, the All-Access Pass is not an open enrollment purchase. You will submit a waitlist form indicating the component you want support for. Once a seat becomes available, Team Tracey will send you a personalized purchase link and instructions for how to proceed.
A few important things to know before you join:
- You may only hold one All-Access seat at a time. Once you complete or close out support for one component, you can move into the next available seat.
- Plan to move through the work promptly. The All-Access Pass is designed to be completed in 2–3 months. Because this support is tied to active progress, you will not want to stretch it beyond that window.
- As long as your membership is active when you complete your final draft, Tracey will do a full rubric-aligned Read & Advise of your portfolio before you prepare it for submission to NBPTS.
What does All-Access coaching look like inside my component?
Each component has a structured set of coaching touchpoints built directly into the course timeline. Here is what that looks like for each:
Component 2 (Workshop format)
- Live 1:1 Zoom to discuss & determine your Instructional Plans
- Submission-based email (Google Doc) support & feedback on each section as you work through it: Instructional Context, Planning, Student Work Samples, Analysis, and Reflection
- Final Read & Advise of your complete draft before submission
Component 2 coaching is built around your writing pace — you submit each section as you finish it and receive rubric-aligned feedback in return.
Component 3 (12-week course)
- Week 6 — Live 1:1 Zoom to discuss your Video Plans
- Week 8 — Live 1:1 Zoom to review your AAT Lesson Plan rough drafts
- Week 10 — Live 1:1 Zoom to review your Forms, Planning Commentaries & Materials
- Week 12 — Live 1:1 Zoom to review your Written Commentary drafts before submission
Component 3 includes 4 live 1:1 Zoom meetings timed to the exact moments you will need the most support.
Component 4 (12-week course)
- Module 2 — Live 1:1 Zoom to discuss your Triangle Plan
- Module 5 — Live 1:1 Zoom to discuss your Unit Plan
- Module 6 — Submit your KOS Evidence & Group Profile Form for feedback
- Module 7 — Submit your FA, SSA & SA Forms & Evidence for feedback
- Module 8 — Submit your PLN & SN Forms & Evidence for feedback
- Module 11 — Submit all Final Docs for your Read & Advise before submission
Component 4 includes 2 live 1:1 Zoom meetings plus 4 structured submission-based feedback touchpoints.
In all components, if you hit a wall between touchpoints, we will determine how to get you through the hurdle.
Do you still host Think Tanks or group Zoom sessions?
The Think Tanks offered in prior years have been retired. All live coaching is now delivered through the All-Access Pass as private 1:1 sessions. Tracey has archived all prior Think Tank recordings and made them available free inside your C2, C3, and/or C4 courses — hours of amazing coaching, right at your fingertips.Â

MOC Candidates Information
How long do I have access to Renew Like a Pro?
You will have access to Renew Like a Pro for 365 days after your date of purchase.
Do I have to work within the 12 week time frame Tracey suggests?
No. The 12-week timeline is a suggested pacing guide, not a required schedule.
Some candidates follow the 12-week plan exactly. Others move faster, and some spread the work out over a longer period of time. Renew Like a Pro is designed so you can adjust the pace based on your schedule, responsibilities, and submission deadline.
The purpose of the timeline is to keep you organized and moving forward, not to pressure you. You can work at the pace that is right for you while still using the course structure, templates, and accountability tools to guide your progress.
Does your program offer templates for me to use?
Yes. Renew Like a Pro includes templates, charts, and planning tools to help you complete the MOC process in an organized way.
You will receive tools to help you plan your Professional Growth Experiences, connect your growth to your certificate area, organize your evidence, prepare your written responses, and stay aligned to the rubric.
These templates are not generic worksheets. They are designed to help you think through the specific decisions you need to make as you build your MOC portfolio.
They do not replace your own thinking or writing, but they give you a clear structure so you are not starting from a blank page.
Does your program provide examples of completed work?
Yes. The course includes examples to help you understand the structure, organization, and level of reflection expected in an MOC portfolio.
These examples are used as teaching tools, not as templates to copy. Your submission must reflect your own Professional Growth Experiences, evidence, teaching context, and written responses.
The goal is to help you see what strong, rubric-aligned work can look like so you can build your own original portfolio with more clarity and confidence.
Does your program include a guide to help me complete the tasks?
Yes. Renew Like a Pro is designed to walk you through the MOC process step by step so you are not trying to figure out the renewal requirements on your own.
Tracey has carefully organized the MOC process into a clear path that helps you understand what to do, when to do it, and how each part of your renewal portfolio connects to the rubric.
As you move through the course, you will work through the major pieces of your MOC submission, including selecting and developing your Professional Growth Experiences, connecting your growth to your certificate area, gathering evidence, writing your responses, and preparing your final submission.
You will also receive a recommended timeline and accountability tools to help you stay organized, track your progress, and keep moving toward submission.
The goal is for you to always know what step you are on, what needs to be completed next, and how to build a polished MOC portfolio that clearly shows your professional growth.
Does your program give feedback on my work prior to submission?
Feedback depends on the option you purchase.
Basic Renew Like a Pro includes the course, templates, examples, planning tools, and step-by-step guidance. It does not automatically include individualized feedback on your written work. Basic RLP candidates may purchase feedback support as needed when available.
The VIT Experience includes everything in Renew Like a Pro plus direct support and feedback as you build your MOC portfolio.
If you know you want Tracey’s feedback before submission, the VIT Experience is the best fit. If you mainly want the course structure and prefer to add feedback only when needed, Basic Renew Like a Pro may be the better fit.
Do you offer any coupons or discounts?
Yes! Enter the coupon code FRIEND at checkout and receive 10% off of your purchase.

Other NBPTS Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean to be a National Board Certified Teacher?
A National Board Certified teacher is one of the most respected and coveted certifications available in education. It provides numerous benefits to teachers, students, and schools.
It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. The process is daunting, but with the right support, can be fulfilling and open many doors for your education career.
What does the broader context of teaching and learning in the NBPTS portfolio mean?
In short, the broader context for teaching and learning are the goals that you used to plan the lesson. These typically combine many goals over a long period of time for students to internalize their learning. I wrote a blog that shows how the broader context of teaching and learning ties to the NBPTS standards and lesson planning.
Is the National Board Certification for teachers only?
Ironically, no. National Board Certification includes administrators and counselors along with educators.
Many candidates find that their title has changed due to career advancement, such as entering into administration. However these non-teaching education professionals are still able to maintain certification. The initial certification areas include: Â

How long has Tracey Bryant Stuckey been teacher coaching?
Tracey Bryant Stuckey has been involved in teacher coaching and mentorship since 1999. This passion and drive comes from losing her mother before she was able to achieve her National Board status. Feel free to read more about her story.
Her efforts were grass roots by being contracted by local school districts to help with NBPTS certification, but in 2019 she launched the online platform and has coached 2000+ teachers virtually.
Is the NBPTS MOC for me?
If you are already a National Board Certified teacher, then 100% YES, it is for you! It is rewarding and much easier than initial certification. Many states offer incentives and stipends for teachers who attain National Board Certification and complete and maintain certification with the NBPTS MOC portfolio.
Are you affiliated with the National Board?
I have proudly held National Board Certification since 1999, but I am not affiliated with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in any official capacity. The views, opinions, and coaching approaches I share are entirely my own and do not represent NBPTS. That said, I have deep respect for the work NBPTS does in championing teacher growth — it's why I've dedicated so much of my own work to helping candidates through the process.
You can find official NBPTS questions and contact information, as well as the NBPTS contact form, on the organization’s website.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes. Each checkout cart includes an option to purchase the product as a gift.
When you are checking out, select the gift option and enter the recipient’s information so access can be sent to the correct person.
Do you offer consultations?
At this time, we do not offer separate consultation calls before purchase.
Instead, Tracey’s programs are built to provide support inside the course or coaching experience you choose. This helps candidates receive guidance in the right place, with the right resources, and within the structure of the program.
If you are looking for step-by-step instruction, choose the course or workshop that matches your process. If you want feedback and direct support as you work, choose the higher-support option, such as the All-Access Pass for Initial candidates or the VIT Experience for MOC candidates.
We are happy to answer general product questions by email, but individualized portfolio planning, score report review, retake strategy, or component selection guidance is provided through paid support options, not through free consultation calls.
