Component 4 Class

Component 4 is about who you are as a professional — and how your presence and leadership/collaboration/advocacy have shaped the people and the field around you.
Most candidates undershoot this component because they become overwhelmed by its many parts - collecting data, using assessment to drive instruction, and participating in learning communities connected to student needs. This course helps you identify, organize, and write about your professional contributions, develop a solid unit plan that connects to student needs & integrates the three types of assessment required in the process while implementing & writing about that plan.
Working through a step-by-step system with clear milestones, examples from real portfolios, and worksheets that guide your thinking, you will finish this component with a portfolio section that reflects the full scope of your professional impact.
Best for you if: You are beginning the NBPTS process - this is the first component you should complete. It will turn you into a National Board Certified Teacher. It is also a good choice if you have already completed other components, but see this portfolio as a “BEAST” that you want to tame through a clear and systematic path from blank page to confident submission.
Component 3 Class

Component 3 is the one that makes candidates feel like they are writing the same paragraph over and over — never quite hitting the mark, never quite sure why.
This course reverse-engineers the entire component from the assessor's perspective.
