MOC Renew Like a Pro and Live Cohort
Frequently Asked Questions
What is different in bootcamp and Renew Like a Pro?
The bootcamp is a jumpstart in the process to help break down what the overall MOC process will look like. By the end of the bootcamp you will have a clear understanding of the process and most teachers have a clear idea of their PGEs. The Renew Like a Pro program however is a much more hands on and step-by-step approach to completing your entire portfolio. By the end of program, you will have your completed MOC Portfolio that clearly meets the MOC scoring rubric.
Those members who add on the Live Cohort, get access to sign up for live group coaching sessions with Tracey and other teachers going through MOC to get your questions answered live by Tracey.
In addition, cohort members have access to recorded sessions (from the entire season), AND the video on demand library which includes specific examples and coaching moments designed to quickly answer your question and understand concepts you may be struggling on.
Where is the Cohort?
Instead of having individual cohorts, we have changed the format a bit. Everyone joins the Renew Like a Pro course and then most candidates add on the monthly subscription to Live Cohort Meetings. You will see this option at checkout and and be able to join the Cohort along with purchase, or you can join later from your dashboard of Renew Like a Pro.
You are welcome to join and cancel anytime you like. Some candidates even join, take a break, and rejoin later in the season. Remember, have it your way! All sessions will be recorded and stored in the program for you to go back and watch.
How long do I have access to the Live Cohort Meetings?
The cohort (subscription based service) will open for open enrollment from June - May. You have access to the cohort as long as your monthly membership fee is paid.
On average teachers spend 3-4 months in the Live Cohort but everyone is different.
Once you cancel your subscription, access will immediately end and you will no longer have access to the video on demand library nor access to the live group coaching meetings and recordings.
You will continue to have access to Renew Like a Pro until the day after the submission window closes for the current National Board season.
Can I work at my own pace?
Yes, you can! The cohort and Renew Like a Pro course will remain open from June of the current year and will end the day following this year's submission deadline for your National Board portfolio.
Stay for as little or as long as your like.
*Pro Tip: The most successful candidates follow along with the prescribed plan from Tracey.
What can I expect from the Renew Like a Pro program?
You can expect this to be like an online graduate course, with a syllabus and homework (planning and templates). Your homework is relevant to building your portfolio and is crucial to your success. By the end of the program, you will have your completed MOC Portfolio ready to be submitted to the National Board.
Do you work with a variety of certificate areas?
Yes I do, in fact I have worked with all 25 different certification areas over the last 20+ years of coaching.
Do you work at NBPTS?
While I do love the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, I do not work for them. I have scored the renewal process, however this was contracted out through Pearson.
Do you offer CEU credits for this program?
Yes, at the end of the course, you will receive a transcript with 40 hours that you can turn into your district.
We have recently partnered with the University of the Pacific to offer Graduate Level CEUs. For more information on this, click here.
For more information, please reach out to the continuing education personnel in your individual district for guidelines and stipulations on this.
Do you read our completed portfolio?
Yes, as a Renew Like a Pro course member you will have the ability to add on a Read and Advise package when you are ready.
This means that Tracey will personally read and color code your writing to show how it meets the NBPTS rubric.
You will turn in your Component 1 Written Commentary, Component 1 Evidence, Component 2 Written Commentary, and your video. Everything will be read and evaluated, and you will receive a personalized video and action plan of what (if anything) needs to be done to strengthen your portfolio and address all parts of the rubric.
Many teachers in the past have found this service serves as an overall piece of mind before submitting their final copies to NBPTS.
What are my one-on-one help options?
Within the program, you will have the ability to purchase VIT (Very Important Teacher) Sessions, which are one-on-one meetings with Tracey. These meetings will be recorded, and a team member will send you the recording of the session. During the 30 minutes, you will be able to ask Tracey whatever you like in order to get off that struggle bus by asking specific questions on your work.
In addition, she offers PGE review and feedback sessions that are popular options for most teachers.
What are the Live Cohort meetings like?
The Live Cohort meetings are group coaching meetings via zoom, which occur every other week (on Thursday evenings). These meetings are led by Tracey Bryant Stuckey based on your questions! The sessions are typically one hour long and are always fun, safe, relevant to your current work and informative.
Will you answer my individual questions?
Yes, within Live Cohort meetings, you will have the ability to ask specific and individual questions. You will also be able to ask questions within Tracey's Tribe, my private Facebook group, which has my team and other members that are either going through Renew Like a Pro or are alumni from the program.
Why should I pay when my district offers free support?
I get this question a lot from teachers, and the answer is actually quite simple. Not all districts/states offer support for Renewal and MOC candidates. My approach and coaching style is different, which makes my program unique. With teachers all over the United States and abroad, you learn and grow with others. The Renew Like a Pro Program is active and candidates know exactly what they should be working on from week to week within the course. My reverse-engineered strategy has helped thousands of NBPTS teachers over the last 20+ years of coaching.
Where is the VIT Program choice?
The VIT Program has changed a little this year. Instead of including the price upfront, all Renew Like a Pro candidates have the ability to book one-on-one VIT sessions (from your course dashboard) anytime you may need Tracey's support.
Some candidates book multiple sessions and others don't book any sessions at all. It is really up to your individual needs while going through the process.
During these sessions, I can review your work, you can ask questions or have me meet any other needs you may have. I will be all ears and ready to help you in any way that I can during our VIT session.
