Florida ranks number two, just behind North Carolina, in the nation for the number of NBCTs (National Board Certified Teachers). This includes teachers who have renewed their National Board Certification through the NB MOC Process and Initial NBCTs.

Florida NBCT Financial Incentives
A number of Florida school districts offer a salary bonus to NBCTs. Check with your principal or district administrator to see if a salary bonus is a possibility for you.
State Recognition
For new Florida educators, a valid National Board certificate is accepted for full reciprocity for a Florida Professional certificate. National Board Certification also satisfies Florida educators’ requirements for renewal of the Florida Professional certificate.
Educational Credits
Some Universities within Florida do provide graduate credit to teachers pursuing National Board Certification. Check with your local Florida university to see if graduate credit is a possibility for you.
NBPTS Support Options
Many districts within Florida may or may not offer support for teachers looking to achieve NBPTS Certification or NB MOC renewal. Teachers looking for support for NBPTS have options, however they may be limited depending on the location within Florida.
