What are the benefits of being an NBCT in DE?

Delaware NBCT Financial Incentives                 

Make sure to check with your local district and the State Department of Education in Delaware to ensure if your district offers any financial incentives. From the State of Delaware’s website according to 1501 Salary Supplements for Educators, it states that "An Educator who achieves and maintains National Certification shall receive an annual Salary Supplement equal to 12 percent of the Educator’s Base Salary for the certification in subsection 4.1.1 or 6 percent of the Educator’s Base Salary for the certifications in subsections 4.1.2 through 4.1.6."

State Recognition    

The state of Delaware recognizes National Board Certification and an educator who holds current National Board Certification will receive an advanced license upon applying for licensure/certification in Delaware.

Educational Credits               

Universities in some areas may support you in providing  graduate credit to teachers pursuing National Board Certification. Check with your local university in Delaware to see if graduate credit is offered.
